ACNE SCAR REDUCTION

Acne scar reduction is for clients who want to minimize scars from acne.

How much does it cost?

Acne scar reduction pricing depends on the number of areas treated and to what extent. Combinations of several treatments are generally necessary. In order to prepare the face for lasers or fillers, acne scar reduction with subscisions and excisions are often necessary.

$200 - $1500 for single treatment

Does it hurt?

Clients will receive shots for localized numbing and topical anesthetic so that the treatment is very comfortable. Clients may experience mild discomfort with swelling and bruising possible.

What is the downtime?

Clients will need to wear a bandage for one to two days. After this period, cosmetics can be used to cover bruising if necessary except on incision sites. Bruising could last up to one week.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on the type of acne scars being treated. Subscisions and excisions are generally a one-time treatment.

Medical note:

Clients should not take any blood thinners (i.e. Vitamin E, Aspirin or Coumadin) for two weeks treatment. These will increase your risk of bruising.

Treatments cannot be administered if you are pregnant.

Please notify the staff of all prescriptions prior to scheduling.

POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

  • Leave pressure bandages on and keep area dry for 24 hours. Use ice packs over the bandages four times a day, ten minutes each, for 1-2 days. This will minimize any bruising and swelling. Frozen peas make nice ice packs.
  • Cosmetics can be applied immediately to any area without sutures, except on incision sites.
  • Clean any sutures with soap and water once a day for one week.
  • Apply Polysporin® ointment or Aquaphor® ointment to these areas four times a day for one week. You want to prevent a scab from forming
